Drawing Exercises-Interpretive Illustration

The teachers had us do some in class drawing exercises for our first Interpretive Illustration class. It was a lot of fun. We first had to draw a picture of this old man as accurately as we could, and then we had to draw it after the image was flipped upside down. Next one we did we could only use curves, and the one after that we could only use straight lines. For the last two he timed us with a phrase “one steam boat”, and the last one he said it even faster. For our next assignment this week we have to take one of our portfolio pieces and redraw it applying the exercises that we learnt in class. First week of classes are completed, and now onto the homework! 🙂
